The Islamic Holy month of Ramadan has began across most of the muslim world. Ramadan, which is the holiest month on the islamic calendar began today Saturday, 27th May 2017 and will last for a month - specifically 29 or 30 days according to the sighting of lunar moon. During the period muslim faithfuls around the world (there are about 1.6 billion of them, which is about 22% of the world population) fast from dawn to sunset and abstain from eating, drinking and sexual activities during the fasting hours for one month.
Among the countries where Ramadan has begun today include; Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Iran, UAE, Qatar, Egypt, Morocco, Nigeria and many other muslim countries.
